Middle Coombe Farm wedding
It had been almost ten years since I photographed a wedding at Middle Coombe Farm near Tiverton. Alice and Chris were the couple. We all met up a few months before to go through the day, walking around the venue I was thinking... "I'm sure I've been here before" which indeed I had been. (Don't worry my photography is better than my memory!)
The walk up and back to the outdoor ceremony is fantastic, so many picture opportunities to be had, especially with daughter and flower girl extraordinaire Beatrix being on form. Middle Coombe Farm really goes with my style of wedding photography, where I can naturally shoot the couple photos without breaking stride if you know what I mean, along with a brief stroll into the woods, it's just a perfect situation, where they got married under a large Oak tree, and straight after a cream tea was laid out (cream first by the way).
Alice's dad was a town crier, so it was his job to call us all in for the reception meal, always thought it must be a great job, just shouting really loud at people, ringing a bell, and shouting, anyway, I digress.
On site at Middle Coombe Farm was a summer house where I stayed overnight, which was perfect, the thought of trying to weave through those Devon lanes home after dark was too much, this meant I was able to capture more moments into the evening.
I was made to feel very welcome by everyone, the owners Angela and Tim couldn't do enough for everyone and the suppliers. It started to rain in the evening, but this didn't put a dampener on proceedings, as the dancefloor was always in use after the first dance, which was a thing of beauty, a perfectly crafted bit of dancing.
Hoping to return soon!
