As the year comes to an end, I’ve been thinking about the moments that stayed with me long after the wedding days were over, the in-between moments. The ones that happened naturally, without direction.
This year was full of those moments as my couples trusted in me with my style and approach. Letting the day unfold naturally.
Across all the weddings this year, there was a shared feeling of ease. My Couples focus less on how the day should look and more on how it should feel. That trust allowed me to work quietly in the background, observing and documenting moments as they unfolded. From my perspective, that ease creates trust and trust gives you access. As a documentary wedding photographer I try and always react, rather than direct.
The weddings I photographed this year reminded me why I still love taking pictures, when couples let their day unfold as it’s meant to—without pressure or performance—something honest happens and that's where I come into it all. The venues have been brilliant as always, all I try and do is put the couple in a fab backdrop and setting, as natural looking as possible
Looking forward to what 2026 brings, capturing those feelings, trying to anticipate the moments before they even happen— and this is why I love my job.
